Updates and release notes. Newest first.
First public release. We're wrapping up Apple App Review prep (IRB approval IRBAM-25-0015 in hand). Once Apple's Kids category review clears, ProudMe ships.
Pebble is running in supervised testing with the LSU Pedagogical Kinesiology Lab and partner elementary classrooms (grades 2 to 6). LSU Institutional Review Board approved the study on 2025-02-05 under protocol IRBAM-25-0015 (continuation 2026-02-04, no further reviews required per 45 CFR 46). A parallel IRB-approved research arm enrolls children ages 11 to 13 via separate paper consent. v1 ships to the App Store once Apple's Kids category review is complete.
Children's data needs more than a checkbox. Here is what ships behind the scenes, and how we keep proving it.
Last reviewed 2026-05-16HTTPS-only API. Bcrypt cost-12 password hashing. JWT with server-side revocation. iOS Keychain and Android EncryptedSharedPreferences for on-device secrets.
Every message from Pebble runs through OpenAI's safety classifier. If the classifier is unreachable, we block the message instead of passing it through. Crisis terms route to 988 and Crisis Text Line.
Every shipped change is reviewed by an experienced security reviewer before merge. Most recent pass: 8 findings (2 HIGH and 6 MEDIUM) fixed and verified on 2026-05-16.
Every safety event (crisis response, harmful-input redirect, moderation outage) is written to an immutable audit log. IRB-reviewable. Exportable on request.

Security fixes go from finding to shipped in hours, not weeks. Every release runs the full automated test suite plus a security review pass before it hits production.
No profiles, no data sold. The least amount of data we need, kept the shortest time it is useful for.
Required before any account is created. COPPA-compliant flow designed with the LSU Office of General Counsel. Parents control the account, not the child.
LSU Institutional Review Board approved on 2025-02-05 under protocol IRBAM-25-0015. Operated directly by the LSU Pedagogical Kinesiology Lab as a lab-based research project; the App is not run through any child's school.
Conversations with the AI buddy are kept for 30 days, then automatically and irreversibly deleted. No long-term chat history, no training on your child's words.
No analytics SDKs. No ad networks. No behavioral profiling. The marketing site itself has zero trackers. Verified at every release.
We ask for the least we need to make the app work. No phone numbers, no location, no contacts, no photos. Just what each feature genuinely requires.
View, export, or delete your child's data at any time. Email pklab@lsu.edu and we respond within 7 days, usually same-day.
For parents, press, or anyone interested in the research.
